Welcome to the new DiversityRx!

  • In 1996, Resources for Cross Cultural Health Care received a grant from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation to create one of the first websites devoted to culturally and linguistically competent health care. Our visionary project officer, Pancho Chang, believed that using the internet could transform communication and learning in the field of cross cultural health care -- and greatly expand the audience of interested health professionals, advocates, and policymakers.

Today we can do so much more. Websites are not just static repositories of information, but places where people can go to discover and connect with kindred spirits, contribute their own experience and expertise, and shape the agenda of the future.

We're grateful for the grant from The California Endowment that has allowed us to test new ways of educating and networking people who want to improve health care for culturally diverse populations. The completely revamped DiversityRx website is the capstone on a year-long initiative that has included webinars, listservs, communities of practice and peer learning networks.

In addition to being the home for the continuation of those activities, the new website features an extensive resource database, a directory of organizations in the field, a member directory that allows people to share their expertise with others, blogs, and much more. Please visit How to Use This Site for complete details. And when you've had a chance to look around, tell us what you think -- our goal is to grow and change according to your needs, and with your active contributions.

    Warm regards,

    Julia Puebla Fortier
