Arlington, VA 22203 African refugees and immigrants face daily challenges as they establish new lives in the United States. These challenges stem from both an unfamiliarity with American cultures and the lack of knowledge among the public about challenges faced by African newcomers. This sometimes poses added obstacles to newcomers’ desire and ability to integrate into American society.
The Ethiopian Community Development Council's 18th Annual Conference will focus on these issues and more:
- Best practices in refugee resettlement programs
- Economic empowerment and employment
- Education and integration
- Immigration services
- Partnership strategies
- Refugee health services
- Socio-cultural challenges, integration and related laws
- Cultivating youth leadership
- Diaspora contributions
