Cultural Competency Toolkit: Ten Grant Sites Share Lessons Learned

This toolkit provides an overview of and lessons learned from the Cultural Competency Initiative, which was launched in 2000. The Initiative assisted mental health organizations create and implement culturally competent services by providing funding and technical assistance as well as by disseminating information about innovative minority outreach programs. Each chapter of the toolkit provides an overview of one of the ten model programs that were funded by the Initiative. Project goals and implementation plans are shared, project leaders share their expertise, and program materials are included in each chapter's appendices. The purpose of the toolkit is to aid other health care organizations in creating and implementing similar programs.
