These guidelines are intended to assist mental health staff in understanding the characteristics of interpreted meetings and to develop the knowledge and skills that are necessary for working in partnership with interpreters. These guidelines aim to increase awareness and understanding of the complexity of interpreting in mental health settings; outline the knowledge and practical skills required to work effectively with interpreters and clients; and provide links to additional information and resources to assist in working with interpreters in mental health settings.
