The materials in this toolkit are designed to support advocates and others working to ensure that people with limited English proficiency (LEP) in their state receive appropriate language assistance services in health care settings. The toolkit helps to explain the laws and policies surrounding access to service for LEP patients, and how states pay for Medicaid and SCHIP. Additionally, the toolkit highlights successful models that states have adopted, and provides information on advocacy techniques that can help to demonstrate the need for language services. The toolkit is also available in Spanish.
